John Ackerman is proud to be the sole distributor of Atlas Devices, LLC (Atlas) which was founded by four MIT students in 2005 to develop and field their invention: the ATLAS Powered Rope Ascender.
Originally requested by U.S. Army Rangers, the first prototype of the impressive ascent tool was created for a student design competition co-hosted annually by MIT and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
Still based in Boston, MA, Atlas Devices proudly supports the U.S. Government and its military branches with the company’s flagship product, now known widely as the Atlas Power Ascender (APA). In addition to supplying their products, Atlas conducts training worldwide on state-of-the-art rapid vertical access techniques with the APA and other innovative technologies they have developed.
